Cukamo Christmas

Last night we had Christmas at my parents' house.  Since we currently do Christmas day at my sister's, with the WHOLE family, my parents like to have each of their children's families over for their own Christmas dinner.  This way, my parents get to do presents on a "small grand kid scale", instead of 8 Christmas-crazed grand kids opening stuff all at once.  This was a super fun night!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PNWEye Christmas Party

I started a new job in June after being at the same ambulatory surgery center for 11 years.  It was sad to leave my old job, as the whole place was closing down, and everybody had to move on.   However, I've loved getting to know my new co-workers and I think they're gonna work out just fine. 

We had a lovely Christmas party at the Hotel Murano where even Santa showed up!  Here are most of the folks I work with at Pacific Northwest Eye Surgery Center.  They're a good bunch.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back on the above date, a certain guy took me on a first date to Pt. Defiance Zoolights.  So tonight, TWENTY YEARS later, we took our kids on the same date.  It was cold, but thankfully dry, and now there are TWO Narrows Bridges, but they still had the same purple tree I fell in love with the first time -- and the same guy.

Sam Advice

This morning I mentioned to Sam that we needed to get gas today.

"We should probably go through the car shower too."

Too bad Mother Nature is taking care of that today, buddy.

Charlotte's Sasquatch Award

Way to go Charlotte on your first Sasquatch Award of the year!  (In 4th grade, you have to read 6 titles from the year's Sasquatch list.)  She's already working on her next one! 




Her picture will go up on the mountian, superimposed onto a Sasquatch body.  Holla!

 

 

Mrs. Albers was one of Charlotte's 3rd grade teachers, and this year became one of our half-time librarians. 
Charlotte's dream-come-true:  one of her favorite teachers in-charge of her favorite place in school!!!!

Disneyland 2012

We had such an awesome time in California last week.  Not only were we enjoying Disneyland, but we enjoyed it with great friends - The Bradburys, The Ledesmas and the Schultzes.  AND Grannie even came with us!  I think what made it so fun was that the kids were all big enough for (almost) every ride - and they (Sam) were SO BRAVE!!  Here are a few of the highlights...

Sam's Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Do you feel as though you just saw this post?  Yeah, me too.  Except what you actually saw was Jane's Pumpkin Patch Field Trip at the same Schilter Family Farm.  One week later, I was able to chaperone Sam's first ever field trip, and we had a great time!  Here are some of the pictures.  What you can't see, is that Sam is much harder to capture on film than Janey-the-poser.  So here are a couple of the best shots.  Love me some Sammers!

Charlotte turns 10 (unbelievable!)

Our sweet little girl is on her way to 'tweendom as she has entered the double digit club.  We're so proud of you, Charlotte.  You're a smart, loving, talented, creative kid, and you work hard to reach your goals.  Thank you for being such a wonderful oldest daughter and big sister.

 

 

First Grade Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

We had absoluetly GORGEOUS weather at the pumpkin patch today!  Schilter Family Farm never fails to show the first graders a good time with a hay ride, pumpkin picking, hay maze and baby farm animals to pet and cuddle. 

I'll be doing a repeat performance with Sam's preschool class next week - can we bet on the same weather?  Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...stay tuned.
